Discover the tropical rainforest with this adventurous half-day hiking tour in the Khao Phra Taew National Park, right in the heart of Phuket. Hike along beautiful Tonsai waterfall, while admiring the extraordinary tropical vegetation. Hangers, sliders, creepers, giant palms and huge trees make you feel like an adventurer discovering a lost world.

The first half of the forest trail is rocky and goes slightly uphill along lovely Tonsai waterfall. Our expert guide leads the way and is constantly on the lookout to spot red crabs, sweet water shrimps, giant spiders, frogs, snakes, iguanas and so much more.  Rince off the sweat with a refreshing jungle shower under the waterfall, a great photo opportunity and a lasting souvenir of your trekking adventure.

While you advance hiking higher up the Khao Phra Taew mountain range, you will be rewarded with world unique giant palm leaves, one of the reasons this tropical rainforest is now Phuket’s largest and most important national park.

The second half of the trekking leads you smoothly downhill through giant bamboo corridors and jungle so dense that it looks as if you are walking between two green walls. Admire the colossal termite nests left and right, while our guide will happily explain you the hierarchy of the termite world with its soldiers, workers, queens and kings.

If you are lucky, then you might spot a white-handed gibbon, member of one of the several gibbon families living in the Khao Phra Taew national park. Gibbons are beautiful small apes that live high up in the trees and are considered the loudest mammal on earth. Gibbon calls can be heard in the rainforest from miles away.

This 3.5 km or 2 hour hiking adventure in the heart of Phuket is your perfect introduction to the tropical rainforest.
