After the transfer by van from your hotel, you arrive at Bang Rong pier, the last of Phuket's small community ports, surrounded by mangrove forests. This authentic pier still is mainly used by longtail boats. You will enjoy a scenic boat trip to the island of Koh Yao Noi, Phuket’s quiet neighbour. The boat trip takes 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the type of boat.
During the ca. 12 km morning ride of the trip, you explore the picturesque countryside of Koh Yao Noi. You bike through the main market town of the island, through mangrove forests, rubber plantations, and even a fishing village on stilts. Cycling through a large wide open plain full of rice paddies will be a holiday highlight withour any doubt! Most photogenic season here is from July to December. You learn about sustainable agriculture during a visit of a family-run farm surrounded by rice paddies, where you quench your thirst with fresh coconut juice.
At midday, enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a beachside restaurant with a stunning view on the Andaman Sea. After lunch, plenty of time to relax at the beach or walk(!) to a nearby island. Swimming possible at high tide
During the 10 km afternoon ride, mostly on paved roads, you enjoy wide ocean views when you cycle along the empty beaches of the east coast of Koh Yao Noi. With clear skies, you can even see the Phi Phi Islands at the horizon. Stop at a palm oil plantation. This day is a mix of nature, culture and fun at the beach.
This Koh Yao Noi cycling tour is not accompanied by our support vehicle. In case you could not complete the full biking distance, then we use a local pick-up style taxi to transfer you to the next stop.
